The Living room de Soraya has encountered the mud of the dana, but today it is a corner of hope and love in the midst of desolation. The project emerged three years ago from the heart of a brave woman who transformed a personal need into a community, and with the same decision is bringing him back to life. After fifteen years working in finance, Soraya opened the doors of this room to offer much more than yoga: an auto treatment center, culture and human connection where stories are shared, knowledge and smiles. The project moved from the center of Valencia to Picanya on 2021, with the aim of giving this town of eleven thousand inhabitants a space of 250 safe and multidisciplinary square meters dedicated to yoga, the ceramics, book clubs and psychology. The Room has become a community network, especially women, "that feed each other and share their talent”, diu Soraya, who bets on a collaborative model away from individualism.
After the disaster that destroyed everything, including this beloved space, Soraya does not give up: “companies are fragile, but people are strong”. I plow, more eager than ever, works to offer solidarity activities that promote self-care and connection. Despite the difficulties, lack of financial resources and institutional misinformation, Soraya dreams of a future where La Sala de Estar shines again as before, or more. “What I do is necessary in the social sphere, and now it is even more so”, he states firmly. But to her, the meaning of everything lived is clear: it's not about getting lost in the pain, but to give it a meaning. With this spirit, he encourages all the people around him to join in this rebuilding of hope. Because if there's one thing La Sala de Estar has shown, it's that, when people come together, magic happens, and dreams can fly again. MARÍA DE QUESADA
