In Valencia it is increasingly common to come across hordes of tourists making out selfies in front of any monument, to follow with taken on the hunt for the next photogenic frame. An ideal form of visit for posting a lot on Instagram but bad for really getting to know and experience a city. The ALTER ECO guides invite you to (re)discover the capital through three different routes proposed by the residents of each neighborhood (Russafa, Benimaclet and El Cabanyal). they are lifelong residents or newcomers, of many ages and social conditions, who recommend their favorite places to us, with little emblematic and a lot of everyday flavor. The guides can be consulted online and in physical format, inside an ocher envelope that contains an illustrated cardboard with the history of the neighborhood and its particularities: gentrification in the case of Russafa, the close link with the vegetable garden in Benimaclet or the recent past of struggle and resistance of the Maritime Towns.
