Pierre Lemaitre is the great figure of international renown who crowns the fourth edition of the festival Literary Cradle, organized astride the capital of the Coast and the cradle of the orange: Xàtiva and Carcaixent. The latter will host, on Wednesday 4/3, in its beautiful Magazem de Ribera, the Goncourt Prize-winning French author. He will present his latest work, The beautiful promises, fourth installment of a series of absorbing novels that transcend the historical anecdote. The bulk of the festival starts in Xàtiva right after Les Fallas, with Pau Alabajos presenting Vietnamese verses, an anthology of anti-Franco Catalan poetry; i Nieves Concostrina i Jesus Pozo talking about bad memory, a study on poverty, Church and repression in Franco's schools. They will repeat at the festival Bibiana Collado Cabrera i José Luis Sastre because both have new creatures to introduce: Lead i Marcelino.
The last weekend of March, already in Carcaixent, the festival will bring us the Moroccan writer Abdelá Taia, Goncourt Prize finalist 2024; Aurora Luque, National Poetry Award of the Year 2022; i Zafra Remedies, you will submit The Report (National Essay Award 2025), an essay on intellectual precariousness and the bureaucratization of cultural work. The traditional poetic evening (with prior registration) will have Andres Neuman, Lola Mascarell i Maria Josep Escrivà. AU
