Just resting, 12
There are shops that sell products. And then it is Femina, a Cabanyal corsetry that has been sewing life stories for over sixty years. He was born 1961, when Ana Díaz's grandparents (better known in Valencia as Ana Peligro) they bet on a bass that was a warehouse of melons. Since then, the store has been a refuge, sustenance and independence for three generations of women. Here it's about taking care of the body with respect and knowledge. Many people arrive without knowing their size and leave with a bra and a different way of looking at themselves: more comfortable, more free, more his. Because, as they say, A skin-to-skin garment should never bother. Femina is a transgenerational store where everyone goes, from the age of fourteen to where you get to.
With a wide selection and thought with affection, his goal is clear: that anyone can find what they need, whatever your body or your tastes. And this, in a working-class neighborhood like Cabanyal, it is also a form of justice. Located in the market square, one of the living hearts of the neighborhood, the shop resists the tourism that devours the local trade. There are fewer and fewer businesses like this, and more reasons to take care of them. Because what really sustains Femina are not fashions or trends: is the relationship with the clientele, that human bond that is created when someone comes in with doubts and leaves smiling. What Femina wants is to continue, live with dignity and do it together, and this, in the current times, it's quite a luxury. Because yes, maybe you go in for some panties... but you leave with a little more self-esteem (and Amazon doesn't give you that). MARÍA DE QUESADA
