XIII Art to the Wind

GORGOS CAT (the Marina Alta)

They say it is the most important outdoor textile art exhibition in Spain. This summer we travel to Marina Alta to meet Art al Vent the Gorgos Cat, a town associated with tin crafts where the tradition of hanging blankets on the passage of processions or to indicate the house of the boy or girl taking communion has been maintained. For that the works that star in the exhibition respect the dimensions of a blanket and move in the wind. An international jury selects the participating pieces; this year, 83 buys 17 different countries. The band, there will be cultural activities such as the performances of the El Montgó group of dolçainers and tabale players and the La Llata ​​dance group, guided routes, tin workshops and the screening of documentaries From Montgó to Manhattan i Live Roots.
