The Alfons el Magnànim Institution has prepared a very powerful program of debates for the first quarter of the year. In February, the professor from the London School of Economics will visit Valencia David J. Madden, who will analyze problems such as rising rents, evictions or property speculation at the conference In defense of housing [6/2], and the Parisian historian Sophie Baby, who will lecture on the not at all peaceful Spanish transition in The violent transition [28/2]. In March, the American publisher Dava Sobel will talk about the women who worked for the Harvard observatory interpreting the observations that the astronomers made every night in The crystal universe [5/3] and the Chilean political scientist Christopher Rovira will lead a debate under the title of Populism [11/3] to establish what populism really is, who are the populist leaders and what is the relationship between populism and democracy.
