A few kilometers from València heading south we have a natural park of Mediterranean forest presided over by the Albufera, protected tight and tight (¡gracias!) from 1986. And flanking this ecological coastal jewel extends a large line of semi-virgin beach covered by a bike path that ends in the town of El Saler.. This month we propose a bike trip to visit the Casa de la Demanà in El Saler and finish off the getaway by eating in a beautiful farmhouse among orange trees in Castellar-Oliveral. Get on the bike we're leaving.
The bike path starts in front of the Agora, future headquarters of Caixa Fòrum, and runs parallel to the V-15 touching La Punta. Crossing the walkway over the train tracks rises to the left, majestic, the Church of the Immaculate Conception from the beginning of the 20th century with its characteristic blue tile dome. The path continues along the highway until it reaches the bridge that crosses the Túria River., “the real one”, the fact that in factdischarges water into the sea. It crosses Pinedo beach from end to end and, between pines, white hair, some prickly pear and dunes, arrives at El Saler beach, to a bird nesting area. Before hitting the asphalt we have the first stop at a bunker con 500 square meters of underground galleries that were never operational, secretly built in 1938 under the orders of General Miaja to defend the legitimate government of the Republic against the insurrectionists.

The bike path that now winds parallel to the road crosses El Saler and, almost at the end at the end of the town, behind the Bounty nightclub, rest the House of Demand, a baroque farmhouse from the 17th century where the hunting points of the Albufera were auctioned in a ritual that was known as “demanà”. In the lobby of the building, the boatmen met for the drawing and the assignment of areas, and the call was made by ringing a bell located in the small tower that tops the building.. On the rectangular plot there is a main building with two L-shaped bodies of two heights., a one-story annex and the corral. The north wing corresponds to an extension from the beginning of the 20th century that followed the modernist architectural trend of the time., symmetrical and with balconies, while the original façade looks asymmetrical with bulging, low-hanging latticed bay windows..
So far we have traveled about ten kilometers, Now it's time to retrace our steps to fill our stomachs. On your way back to Pinedo you will pass through the Alquería de la Mar, between Spook and the Canal Room, no direct access from the bike path, but we go a little further, to the district of Castellar-Oliveral. Before reaching the mouth of the Túria, turning around the last beach restaurant in Pinedo, the Mediterranean, You will take a path towards the Brosquil Farmhouse between orchards, has no loss, is signposted. The renovated farmhouse has a terrace and a beautiful glass room that overlooks an orange grove where you will be served good traditional Valencian food.: scratch, loved, haddock meatballs, clochinas, noodle, paella of all flavors and textures (of reds, crab, duck, baked, from Mr.…), there i pebre… To pay a good tribute! We will return through Castellar, passing through Merca Valencia and taking Font d'En Corts until arriving at Antonio Ferrandis street. Our beach journey ends in the big city, orchard and marsh to start the 2021 enjoying the Valencian heritage outdoors on two wheels. AU
