Faced with the fear of dying of success, The organizers of VLC Negra approach each edition of the festival with caution and with the handbrake applied, but the days go by and they can't help it, chaos arrives: of 100 activities in 28 venues the last edition we have gone to 115 in 40 locations! in 2018. This year, with the death of Paco Camarasa still in memory, We welcome two world heavyweights: the first is Donna Leon, possibly the most important black genre author today, and the second is Benjamin Black, Prince of Asturias awardee and several times candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. On the list of international authors we also find Bernard Minier y Frank Thillez –along with Pierre Lemaitre in the top three French authors–, the also french Romain Puertolas y Marin Ledun, the italians Santo Piazzese, I'm Pastor y Marko Zilahy, and the Peruvian Jorge Eduardo Benavides. Juan Madrid, Andreu Martin, Alicia Gimenez Bartlett (who will receive the González Ledesma Award) y Pasqual Alapont, among the nationals. But VLC Negra is much more than literature!! It is the theatrical adaptation of the Hitchcock film A perfect crime, the film series dedicated to the work of Fritz Lang in the fifties, menus made with the most obscure ingredients and the traditional final closing on Passeig de Russafa with book signings, wine and a tapa of ham.
