Mother of the helpless

MuVIM. Quevedo, 10

Are we religious or not?, what is certain is that history, the culture and life of the peoples is strongly marked by religion. In the case of Valencia, our shared history as a society is inseparable from devotion to the geperudeta, icon of small town, of the unfortunate, of the sick, the poor, the destitute, definitely, of the helpless. With this exhibition cycle the MuVIM aims to review and reconstruct the history of Our Lady of the Despairs throughout the, practically, six centuries of worship in our city. If we combine the great historical and aesthetic value of the pieces with the sentimental value they have for many Valencians, we are sure that more than one tear will fall. GLORIA POZUELO
