Portraying a face is very easy, capturing a portion of the character's character in a still image requires art and a lot of craft. This is what he has done Ricardo Martin over the past fifty years for various media—especially The country— and now he has recovered part of that valuable photographic archive filled with people from Spanish culture and politics of the last decades and has brought it to La Nau under the title The faces of time. They are friendly photos, in color and in black and white—mainly—, short and wide shots, where the protagonists look directly into the camera to appeal to the reader. Although photography for the media requires urgency and speed, Martín confesses that he took his time to gain the trust of the person portrayed and thus be able to do it click at the precise moment he froze the revealing expression, the one that introduced the character, without forcing poses and intervening as little as possible. The oldest photo was taken in Granada on 1971 and it stars a young Miguel Ríos, From here, parade a xulesc Alfonso Guerra, Felipe González exulting inside a bus greeting a bunch of excited faces, Gloria Fuertes hidden behind a toy carousel, a seductive Victoria Abril watching from below playing with the shadows, a proud Lola Flores, a fun Oteiza, a distrustful Warhol, Jagger overacted and a great photographer photographed, Annie Leibovitz. A delightful exhibition with some of the most relevant figures in Spanish history (i mundial) most recently captured by the lens of a press photographer with a lot of craft. AU
