The case studies are exhibitions that delve into the IVAM collection to shed new light on some of its works.. In this case, five slides from the series with which Robert Rauschenberg created the set at the end of the 70 for the dance piece Glacial Decoy de Trisha Brown, one of the most influential choreographers and dancers of the 20th century. These five black and white photogravures by Rauschenberg that the IVAM has were projected, along with many others, on four large screens at the back of the stage while the dance quartet performed their choreography. and they are the excuse to delve deeper into the romance that performing and performing arts had with contemporary art in the years 50-60 from the last century. In fact, Rauschenberg not only took care of the scenography, He also designed the lighting and costumes (He modified it after the premiere of the work) of this piece that marked Brown's first foray into a stage space. She laid one of the first stones of contemporary dance seeking a freer and purer conception that was stripped of many theatrical elements. (the narrativity, the elaborate dresses…), of academicism, of conventional spaces, of the shoes, even about music! Just body and movement, pure abstraction. The IVAM shows photos of the premier from Glacial Decoy in Minneapolis and its revival in New York (already with another costume), two videos of the performances, and the photographs owned by the IVAM that started the exhibition, which are projected on the back wall along with many others recreating the scenery of that magnetic decoy that was Glacial Decoy.
