UNTIL SUNDAY 18/2
MuIVM. Quevedo, 10
Antonio Perez find art in any object. The paper that surrounds a candy or the cap of a light bulb becomes a Velázquez Girl in the hands of the Manchex artist. That's about it complicities, to pay tribute to the great creators of art by recreating their famous works with waste. Antonio Saura with crushed rims, Spyglass with twisted wire embedded in a mass of concrete, Tàpies with dry and crusted earth and Carmen Calvo with photographs of Lorca intervening, this is how Pérez manages to reread some gems of contemporary art. They are also referenced spot paintings by Damien Hirst, Marcel Duchamp's vase, the cages of Susana Solano or el ready-made of the Man Ray board. But the most striking case is that of Miquel Navarro, which has deployed two of his famous imagined cities in another room of the MuVIM for the exhibition Poetic urbanism. Pérez instantly refers us to them using the humble cardboard dividers that organize the wine bottles inside a box. An exhibition about the art of waste. S.M
