THE SHIP (Beams Room). University, 2

La Nau dedicates an exhibition to the Valencian furniture industry and to the manufacture of curved furniture that we will copy here from Austria-Hungary at the end of the 19th century. L’Valencian Archive of Design i Caixa Vinaròs Foundation they have brought to Valencia more than fifty pieces of this style that sparked the transformation of traditional cabinetmaking workshops into modern serial production factories that would make up the Valencian furniture industry. The new furniture embraced aesthetic rationalism by simplifying the lines, give value to the void, give continuity to the line and connect with the tastes of the bourgeoisie (primer) and the urban popular classes (after). Aesthetics and reason is an exhibition that invites you to look with different eyes at the furniture in your grandmother's house that you had never paid attention to. AU
