We start the year with an interview with the writer Ana Campoy, who already granted us another one following the publication of his young adult novel Family on the run. On this occasion, the F family., the protagonists of that series, They will live a new adventure in Closed by ghosts (I speak Santillana), a book illustrated by the Valencian artist Alex Alonso, who has also agreed to respond to us about this book.
Ana Campoy (Madrid, 1979), after graduating in Audiovisual Communication, began his career on television, cinema and radio, where she worked as a scriptwriter and announcer. Talk about children's and youth literature on the radio, He collaborates as a cultural journalist in various magazines and is in charge of coordinating the children's section of the Celsius Festival 232. In 2017 wins the Jaén Prize for Youth Fiction with The chronopandilla: the time tunnel. She is an author, besides, of Family on the run, by Arturo Leal and the ghost dog (2019), All that unites us (2018), the collection The Adventures of Alfred & Agatha (2011-2015), The dragon of Park Güell (2015), Discover Madrid (2014) and verse adaptations for early readers The Lazarillo of Tormes (2016) y Don Quijote of La Mancha (2015). Unlike the two previous missions of the F family., Agent Z tells them that at the Quinto Pino Hotel they can be themselves, bueno, that and taking care of the spa hotel. Of course there is a small catch, They are going to spend some time in a hotel where no one goes in winter…in theory. ComandcHow do they take being able to be themselves for once since among the brothers there are those who handle it worse and better?. Guiño to Maya, our aspiring actress.
Ana Campoy: By being protected witnesses, go F. they have to be pretending all the time. Agent Z gives them false identities so they can disguise themselves wherever they go.. This has the disadvantage of not being able to talk about everything you would like or behave as you want.. And stopping being yourself because of circumstances is something very hard.. Although there are times, as in the case of Maya, that becomes a wonderful armor. At the Quinto Pino Hotel I decided to give them a break so that the F. They could relax a little and be themselves. Bueno, that's in theory. I already say that plans don't really go well.
Unlike other youth literature books, the protagonists of Family on the run They are both the three children of the couple as well as their parents and grandmother.. Is it a way to integrate adults and young people not only through stories but also when sitting down to read as a family??
Ana Campoy: Absolutely. I always say that Family on the run It's a family book, suitable for all audiences. Deep down I defend that children's and youth literature should be that way.. My hope is that parents and children not only read together, but rather talk to each other about literature.
One of the new features included in this book, mons allon of the ponpages that tell the story, Easton At the end of the book, a curious object to serveon to read the poncentral ginas, spaghettiandvery special. ¿Thatand we can reveal to the readers about it?
Ana Campoy: ¡All! The book comes with 3D glasses to enjoy the comic on the central pages. It occurred to Álex Alonso, The Illustrator, and acts as an extra to the story. It has been spectacular.

Closed by ghosts is the third installment of the collectionfromn Family on the run. Honblenos de chow it came about the idea of illustrating these books, the beginnings and cfromhas been evolving until now.
Alex Alonso: Normally, illustrators are dedicated to providing our particular vision of a closed text.. In this case, Family on the Run It is a project in which both the literary and graphic parts complement each other from its very conception., Well, it was born as a joint project. Text and illustration run in parallel and feed each other throughout their development.. The text, obviously, articulates the illustration, but in this case the illustration has also enriched the text and has even conditioned some element of the plot. Starting the collection from scratch was quite a challenge at the time, but now we have a wonderful inertia. It is a very organic and fun way of working.
The character design he madefrom from Agent Z, with a pen stuck in the bun, I think it was the origin for that object to have a presence during the first story: Family on the run: in search and capture. In Closed by Ghosts there is another object that comes out of the ponpages for readers to enjoy. Honblenos of that cfromso special mic included in this delivery.
Alex Alonso: One of the things that we think differentiates Family on the Run It is a certain desire to play with the reader in many aspects.. Details that range from something as omnipresent as the same style of narration that appeals to the reader and makes them complicit in the plot, like Easter eggs hidden in details of the illustrations or even small old-fashioned animations that hide in the corners of each installment. In this third book, We thought it would be fun to make reading even more immersive, so I got to work to create a small three-dimensional comic experience, that enriches the plot and adds value to the book as an object. This new dimension when it comes to enjoying the book is literal and the 3D glasses that are included… Bueno, Let's say they are very important for the resolution of the plot.
The illustrator's work has a bit of a character from the F family. I mention it in a good mood, for the record. There is a greater presence of Ana as the author of the texts, with biography on the cover flap. Instead, His role as creator of the stories also seems to remain silent, in a mysterious way, without attracting attention. Tell us about that secret or silent facet of those who put images in books and often goes unnoticed by readers..
Alex Alonso: Bueno, just like the F Family., I like to go unnoticed and contemplate the scene from a quiet corner. It's a personal decision, but it is true that, as illustrator and designer of the collection, I feel the impulse to collaborate in some way to give more visibility and relevance to a union that, sometimes, is perceived as something accessory. I come from the world of design, and in my day to day I defend this profession. Whenever I have the chance, I do my best to convey the value that those of us who dedicate ourselves to this contribute to this society.. We live in an eminently visual world, It is fair to think that educating our visual culture will result in a society that enjoys our work at other levels than just packaging..
