Under the generous shade of a ficus we contemplate the view: the port on one side; the heart of Canyamelar, the other. The sea breeze and the traditional recipes of the neighborhood sneak into our table., and they are joined by new smells and bites of Spanish gastronomy.. We tried titaina's coca, and the broad beans with Viver sausage, and the croquettes with spinach and garlic shrimp, those with chistorra and broken eggs, and a shrimp pancake, and a divine torreznito, and some fresh squid, and an octopus and meatball stew. And we can't stop thinking that tomorrow for lunch there will be omelette, and cooked ball, and snails, and foal meat; that the ficus awaits us, giving shade to our table, from morning until night, looking with one eye at the sea and its renewed air, and with the other to Canyamelar and its traditional smell.
