SUMMER PRINTED MAGAZINE 2018

Lots of music, open-air theater on Roman ruins and outdoor cinema. That's it, basically, the summary of all the cultural summers in Valencia. Always the same but different every year. It is 2018 we have the festival Rototom of Benicàssim celebrating his 25 anniversary with Jamaican figures such as Julian Marley or Jimmy Cliff, some Nursery Concerts that raise the bar with prominent names on the national scene such as Bomba Estéreo, The Cat Empire, Emir Kusturica and Caetano Veloso, the first edition of Music Port Fest of Sagunt, and a Low Festival which brings us to The Chemical Brothers, Phoenix y Editors, among many others. In the Roman theater of Sagunt, inside the Sagunto in Scene, great tragedies will be represented such as that of Antigone, from La Ferroviaria; Philoctetes, with Pedro Casablanc; The Amazons, with Silvia Abascal; Be able to, starring Lolita Flores; Oedipus, played by a splendid Julio Manrique; Othello, from the company Contemporary Classics; y The garden of delights, by Canadian Marie Chouinard. And for the return, in september, We still have two essential appointments left: the International Exhibition of MIM from Sueca and the Russafa Scenic. In the two major outdoor cinema events, Movie Nights y Summer Film Library, we will see current films influenced by Bergman, films directed by Cannes award-winning women, winning works in the most important competitions of the last year and digitized classic cinema. In the exposition, an exhibition at the Center del Carme with the 33 works of contemporary art acquired by the Generalitat Valenciana last year (Contemporary art of the Valencian Government), the very interesting proposals of Patricia Gómez and Mª Jesús González at the IVAM (To the point of attachment), at the retrospective of Teresa Cebrian, also at the Center del Carme, una muestra sobre la riuà of the 1957 in the MuVIM (water, fang is silent), Hamish Fulton in Bombas Gens and the cinematographic vision of the North American Indians at the Museu d'Etnologia (Beyond Hollywood). And also… many books and comics, the board game with M's phrases. Rajoy (¡Ruiz!), a walk through the old Campanar and some wines in the tavern Terra wine bar.
