trecadís workshop

SATURDAY 31/1, 11H.
CC SLAUGHTER. Sant Pere, 37

The trencadís is a decorative technique that consists of using irregular and broken ceramic fragments, counters or glass to cover surfaces, creating works full of color and texture. We have trencadís on the main facade of Mercat de Colón (1914) by Francisco Mora Berenguer, and the imposing North Station (1917) by Demetrio Ribes. Also - after an early alopecia that was corrected - in the Palace of the Arts, where the controversial Santiago Calatrava incorporated this element that Valencian modernist architecture has made so special. But in this workshop we don't look up, but on a more human scale, to those beautiful facades of the Cabanyal-Canyamelar houses that should inspire us in the design of a small work of trencadís. No previous knowledge is required and the workshop will provide all the necessary tools. AU
