The Heroes Comic Con brand was left behind to welcome this renamed Valencia Comic Fair, taken 100% by Feria Valencia, that aims to follow the marked trail of taking advantage of the transversal connections between comics, audiovisual and video game. The event, it is 2020, will pivot on the heroes-villains dichotomy to highlight that the roles are changing and the moral limits that previously defined each archetype have been blurred.. There is so much, both, in this edition, that we are already getting into flour. For a start, It will be the first time that the Brazilian Joe Bennett, Marvel and DC creative, and author of the successful series The inmortal Hulk, participate in a European comic show as a guest author, which gives a point of international significance to the Valencian show. will sign, will give a talk about his career and give a workshop drawing. Another great superstar will be Brian Azzarello, author of the DC Comics graphic novel Joker (2008), so in vogue thanks to the premiere of the Todd Phillips film masterfully performed by Joaquin Phoenix. Will sign and participate in the talk Heroes and villains. Shattering the archetypes. French authors will also offer talks about their careers Charles Berberian (Mr Jean), of Iraqi origin, y Jean-Louis Tripp, author of one of the great works of European comics: General store. The little touch of celluloid glamor will put it Jack Quaid, actor in the sagas like the hunger games y The Boys.
In the national section, Nazario, the father of comics underground español, will talk with the director of the IVAM, Jose Miguel Cortes, about his memoirs as an author of character comics queer during the decade of years 70 y 80. We will also have one of the great references in contemporary Spanish comics, Antonio Altarriba, National Comic Award in 2010 thanks to masterpieces like The art of flying, and we will listen to John Navarro, magazine editor Cairo —key in the creation of what was called “New Valencian School”—, in conversation with the authors Daniel Torres, I feel y Manuel Gimeno. Other names: Jordi Bernet, cartoonist recognized at Angoulême and the San Diego Comic-con who rose to popularity with Torpedo 1936; Brand Vila, who developed feminist work in the years 70, Susanna Martin, Author of several graphic novels focused on women like Gaza Amal: Comics of brave women in the Gaza Strip; Fernando Dagnino (Smart girl), Pep Brocal (Cosmonaut), y Mamen Moreu (Hangover and disaster), among many others. In the exhibition area we will see the first major retrospective of Manuel Gago, author of The mask warrior, We will know the news introduced by Salva Espín (poster author) in the series Deadpool, We will discover contemporary African comics with the help of Mahmoud Beamer and Kassaï, and we will see originals from the legendary Franco-Belgian series Tif y Tondu with its famous villain Choc and authors who have collected LGTBI stories in their cartoons.
