How can culture transform the way we live, share and reinvent the urban space? It is one of the questions that will be raised by the Night of ideas, a participatory meeting promoted by the Institut Français to reflect on the challenges of our time. In the Valencian Country, of cultural initiatives that have contributed to reactivating spaces and communities we are well served. The Cabanyal Íntim performing arts festival was born to revive the Poblats Marítims and fight against the plan to demolish part of the neighborhood to extend Blasco Ibáñez avenue to the sea. On the other hand, we have the MIAU urban art meeting, who was born on 2014 in Fanzara to culturally stimulate rural areas of the Alt Millars region. These are two examples, but there are many more that can find parallels with the French projects that the Night of ideas. Mikael Arnal talked about The Electric Forest, a French festival of contemporary arts, literature, music and immersive experiences held in Toulouse; Laurie Chevrot will comment on the initiatives of Lille City Council in the public space; i Thomas Vassort ens discover Théâtre de l’Échangeur, an independent center of creation, production and dissemination of performing arts located in the suburb Parisian.
