“The prepared breakfast did not exist, that i knew!”

We open a new chapter of Valencian taste memory with Joan Francesc Mira. After the vedette Rosita Amores and the pop group Tórtel, we interview this anthropologist, Valencian sociologist and writer among memories of aromas and tastes. We leave you a taste: “…as well as breakfast with a sardine in boot and some strips of green pepper. When the pepper was already fried, that was wet, you put the booted sardine on top and pay it two rounds. And this in the garden was a feast. These are things that evoke reverberations from that moment. These are flavors that have remained very much in the corner or that have practically disappeared, for example home-made pickled vegetables, the yellow pepper, thick and wet, the olive trees and something I can't remember. Ai! And tiny green tomatoes… all in brine”. Read the full text here. XAVIER BENAVENT AND MARTINA MONLLAU
