Five new municipal cultural centers are inaugurated in May, spaces with a community aspect that will open their doors in different neighborhoods of the city. The five recently rehabilitated buildings in themselves are an interesting heritage to get up close and personal with: the old Cabanyal slaughterhouse, the center located on Calle La Reina 121, the ship 3 in the Central Park of Russafa, Alquería d’Albors in Orriols and the chalet of Aben Al-Abbar in the district of Camins al Grao, which welcomed the government of the Second Republic before its exile. The La Reina Cultural Center 121 will open its doors on Friday 3/5 at 6 p.m.. with the performance of the Chilean LaMaca Selectha to the rhythm of cumbia and fusion, the function Poetic cabinet of Voodoo Theater, a puppet workshop by The Star Theater and the photographic exhibition Waves of light that watch dedicated to the women of Holy Seafarers' Week, work of Colombian photographer Rogelio Sarmiento. There is more. The cycles will start in May The acoustics of La Reina with Esther i Sandra Monfort i Cabanyal Speaks!, a forum for public debate around issues that affect the neighborhood. The slaughterhouse for its part, will offer a book club of May Flower, a theatrical creation workshop taught by Eva Zapico which takes as its starting point the novel by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez and the Cristina Blasco concert on Friday 3/5. The Aben al-Abbar center will host two activities from Black VLC: a masterclass of literary creation and one murder party. After the first taste that we will have in the months before summer, from September, the centers will have a cultural offer that will seek to respond to the demands and needs of the associative and neighborhood sector of the districts where they are located. That is to say, there will be a line of fun and cultural activities promoted from each centre, which will also include training and outreach activities and the transfer of spaces to groups and associations that present proposals.
