The art, either it belongs to the common or it stops making sense. With this maxim in mind he fulfills 18 Russafart years, the festival that every two years opens the studios and workshops of artists who create in Russafa, so that we enjoy the process more than the product and the doubts over the certainties. The motto this year is “Public art preserve” because – say the organizers – Russafa is today a disputed territory. Intensive tourism, Real estate speculation and the progressive expulsion of neighbors and small businesses is emptying the neighborhood of its social fabric., and culture runs the risk of becoming a decorative element, stripped of his critical capacity. Faced with it, Russafart is positioned as an event that does not adapt to the context, but questions it. The festival encourages us once again to actively participate, to cross the thresholds of the workshops, to dialogue with the artists and to inhabit the neighborhood from culture. This year, con a proposal focused on digital art, audiovisual and video art at the Nave cultural center 3 shores, and the concert by the cumbia group Los Perricolas at Sporting Club Russafa to close the biennial.
