Twinned, the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University (UPV) they dedicate an exhibition to the book as an artistic object. The UPV keeps a reference collection of 1.400 books and artist publications that are nourished by the own production generated by the Faculty of Fine Arts, but it also collects the work of the most relevant international artists of the second half of the 20th century who used the book as an artistic support and broadened its margins beyond the discursive-narrative function. The exhibition Text [no text] begins with artists from 60 and the scope Flux (group that started by sending the books in boxes by post), and continues with craft and experimental publications (inserted, folded pages…) from the publishing house Beau Geste Press of the couple of Mexican artists Felipe Ehrenberg i Martha Hellion. The exhibition includes mythical works such as the drop-down Every building on the sunset stripd’Edward Ruscha or the Warhol’s index (book), delicious minimalist and conceptual books by Sol Lewitt, the “unreadable books” of Bruno Munari, industrial architecture photography Bernd i Hilla Becher or the visual poetry ofEdgardo Antonio Vigo.
