The phallus is converted into an object of worship in the new IVAM Case Study, focused on the most intimate and personal work of Miquel Navarro, largely overshadowed by his great monumental public work. We found a sketch of the sculpture The parotet, Yeah, but it's anecdotal, although it reflects another of the pillars on which the exhibition is based, this is, make visible the processes involved in the creation of Navarro. The secret cabinet of Miquel Navarro brings together objects from their private collections (african art, robots, cactus…) and original works (sculptures, drawings and watercolors) in which he essentializes the form. The idols of African culture, with its exaggerated phallic attributes, symbol of virility, coexist with totems made by the artist, equally phallic, that evoke the erotic, puberty wishes. Reviewing the work of this artist who cannot be influenced by trends, we discover shapes that are repeated obsessively, like the naked people lying down, body-machine fighters or tubular helmets with a taste of futurism. Fuentes, chimneys, cactus, torres, naked men… Phalluses, will fall, will fall. S.M.
