No, which is not just an added value, is that without design there is no health. It is certain, design does not cure, but neither does a vaccine if a syringe has not been invented to inject it. With this clear statement of intentions arrafter the exhibition Design and Health, a project of Valencia World Capital of Design 2022 and the MuVIM that dissects from different prisms the impact of design on human health. Here head of everything, the design of the pediatric exoskeleton by Elena García Armada (the most productive Spanish patent at the moment) designed to enable the movement of boys and girls with difficulties, the impressive anatomical drawings of Pernkopf's atlas of human anatomy (canceled when it was learned that the drawings used hundreds of people killed by the Nazis as models) or the graphic design at the service of campaigns such as the "Póntelo, pónselo" which successfully defended the importance of using condoms or the latest ones in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis encouraging people to stay indoors or get vaccinated. From here, a series of medical cabins on we discover designs to transform normal chairs into wheelchairs, low-cost prostheses made with 3D printing, plastic tubes that eliminate bacteria and parasites so that any water can be drunk and kitchen utensils for the blind, among many other designs put at the service of science and health.
