CARME CENTER. Museum, 2
De Reüll is a group of artists who dedicated themselves to culturally dynamizing the lands of the Marina Alta when the institutions were not there and we did not expect them. Let's talk about the years 90, when Josep Ginestar, Toni Simó and Tomás Ruiz began promoting art by supporting young people and generating community, an activity based on three pillars: the management of a space in Xàbia called Espai Lambert (1993-2005), urban actions and in nature, and the organization of conferences that, hui, they are the ones that still make the collective breathe. They rejected the idea of waiting for an institution to carry out initiatives and they were the driving force, if Muhammad does not go to the mountain… The exhibition Tight: 1990-2020 which they present in the Ferreres room of the Center del Carme reviews the group’s trajectory with a good display of vindictive art made from the periphery ("art does not end when the subway line ends!”, they say) and delving into the specific context in which his work was carried out. The tour begins with the work of the great Joseph Renau, whose collection is deposited at the IVAM but which has not found a fixed accommodation at the height of the character, and runs through three large greenhouses in the central corridor where the culture is cultivated. The social aspect of the show is present, for example, in a sheet of Craft Cabanyal with the embroidered Cabanyal streets, the remains of a painting of Rafael Armengol what, exposed to 1976 in the Xàtiva Coastal Bookstore, exploded by a bomb placed by the ultra-right terrorist group V Commando Adolf Hitler, the pieces of trencadís taken from the Palau de les Arts that the project Ruins of the future auctioned for the benefit of the public school 103 from Valencia, very close to the Calatrava building, which was made of barracks for eleven years, in posters against Iraq's occupation ofAna Navarrete, or on painted counters with enamel for Rafael Tierno i Cuenca recreating the camping of the 15M.
