The body. The body is the tool and the central theme of the exhibition Transbody of the Center del Carme with which Alex French has taken a lurch of the rudder to move away from what performative and walk towards the manual, the most artisanal, what is built with hands and body. In your case, plaster mantle folds, collages of art brut made with rope, cardboard and tiles, prints on paper and crocheted figures. The themes, however, they are still the same: duel, disease, nostalgia, identity, family and, above all, your own body. you, manipulate and color crochet pieces made with hemp longline to form parts of a suit of armor or the imaginary organ of a body, print those pieces on paper with the weight of your body, reflect on the image by working side by side with blind skiers and their guides and investigate how medical science relates to the body (cold and aseptically). Transbody are the last ten years of production by Álex Francés based on the extension of the body towards the object. AU
