The one of Shadi Ghadirian it's a fabulous show. Under the title Like every day, the Iranian artist exhibits half a hundred photographs and a video installation that make up an overview of his work from 1998 up to 2015. We find the most famous photograph of the series Qajar where a woman dressed in clothes from the beginning of the 20th century appears in front of a hand-painted background with a radio on her shoulder. With this image - purchased by the British Museum, the victory & Albert or the Pompidou, among others – Ghadirian achieved international recognition with only 24 years, upon leaving the faculty. She tells us firsthand, without the western filter, the B-side of Iranian society and the untold story of women in her country. In the series Like everyday portrays with bitterness the role of women within the family, in West by far ironizes with censorship, in Ctrl+Alt+Del elegantly plays with computer icons and the five points of woman visible in the Islamic world (face, hands and feet) and in the series Nil Nil i White Square shows how war is introduced into the daily lives of Iranians too accustomed to war. Photographer of an enchanting subtlety. S.M.
