Petra von Kant's bitter tears

FROM TUESDAY 21 ON SUNDAY 26/10
OLYMPIA THEATER. Saint Vincent the Martyr, 44

Director Rakel Camacho comes to the Olympia Theater twice in October. At the beginning of the month he addresses Emma Suárez in The back room and in the play at hand she leads a super cast of actresses: Ana Torrent, Rebeca Matellan, Maribel Vitar, Julia Monje and María Luisa San José. Petra von Kant's bitter tears, by the German Rainer Werner Fassbinder—in his most brilliant period—, was released in 1971 and made into a movie a year later, with great critical acclaim for its stylized portrait of romantic heartbreak between two women. A work that plays sticks such as power relations, the sick obsession and the toxic need to feel accepted in the eyes of others. AU
