Like every September, the Palau de les Arts welcomes a new opera season and, this year it opens with one of the most famous works in history: Carmen, by Georges Bizet. With an exotic look, the opera based on the book of the same name by Prosper Mérimée shows us the cruelty of Seville in the mid-nineteenth century. A young gypsy cigarette maker, bold and independent, he is not afraid to challenge the social order of the time, even if he has to suffer the consequences. On this occasion, we can enjoya Carmen avant-garde and theatrical —directed by Ted Huffman and starring Vasilisa Berzhanskaya— which offers the public an immersive experience thanks to changes in setting and costumes.
