L’actriu i directora valenciana Magüi Mira dirigeix l’adaptació de Marta Torres del text The Barrack, una novel·la de Blasco Ibáñez que, Despite being written in the late 19th century, presents conflicts that can be completely current. La família de Batiste Borrull pateix el rebuig en instal·lar-se en unes terres de l’horta valenciana de les quals havia estat desnonada, per impagament, una altra família que les havia treballades durant generacions. Però tots els arrendataris dels voltants volen mantindre ermes aquestes terres com a símbol de poder davant els seus arrendadors. Una història que, inevitably, recorda a notícies del nostre dia a dia relacionades amb la pujada dels lloguers, els desnonaments i la persecució de persones migrants. G.T.
