OLYMPIA THEATER. Saint Vincent the Martyr, 44
The one that, maybe, is Ionesco's best-known work, premiered in Paris in 1950 beginning the theater of the absurd, that today continues to amaze for uniting the impossible. It was going for tragedy but a perplexed Ionesco had to listen to the laughter in the theater from its first performance. The bald singer shows the absurdity of our daily activities and presents a scathing critique of social impositions. Adriana Ozores and Fernando Tejero lead the work directed by Luis Luque, in which Carmen Ruiz and Joaquín Climent also participate. A representation full of well-known artists, perfect to start the Olympia Theater year. INÉS LUJÁN
