ELECTRA (KNOCKING ON THE DOORS OF DUNBLANE)

CIRCLE THEATER. Prudenci Alcón and Mateu, 2

Electra returns from Swan Song at Teatro Círculo. Under the heavy rain, a man in a trench coat recreates the myth of Electra through reading and all the characters from Euripides' fable appear: Orestes, longed for by his sister Electra, returns to Argos to avenge the death of his father Agamemnon, killed by his mother Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus. Euripides placed this tragedy in Mycenae thousands of years ago, but other parallels have occurred in recent times in nearby places such as Dunblane Primary School (Scotland) where they were killed 16 kids (one of the survivors was tennis player Andy Murray) and a teacher in 1996 in the worst massacre to date at a school in the United Kingdom.
