“Networking is a lifestyle”

This week Nohelis Ruiz Arvelo gives me an interview, Contact Network Strategist. Founder of Planchic, Public Relations consultant, Communication, specialist in events and experiences out of context. Collaborate on Cadena SER and other media outlets. Lecturer and trainer, just published the book Networking para Dummies (Planet). GINÉS J. VERA.

In order to weave an effective professional and personal network around us, one of the recommendations is to use a set of skills and processes that are talked about in the book.. Some are instinctive, On the other hand, others are learned. I imagine that this is where we can act by reinforcing them once we know them and assume. Is it so?
In a global environment that challenges us as people, Relational Networking sets the tone, know how to relate, make effective and active management of these contacts and the information we obtain from them, learn to integrate naturally, create relationships of trust and manage other techniques and skills essential for our personal and professional projects.
On one side, the “Innate Capacities” abilities that are done with grace and naturally. There are people who, without any effort, They will strengthen their interpersonal relationships daily, because they know or sense that they have an important role in the effective achievement of their objectives. Nevertheless, There are also many of us who do not have these capacities so developed innately and it will be necessary to take them into account., practice and adopt them so that we can have a network of contacts that feeds each other, a quality contact network.
There are skills that we acquire throughout life and thanks to studies, courses, professional experience and social skills. It doesn't matter if they are more or less instinctive, what I do recommend, whatever the case, is that we identify them and work on them as each one of us can., since they are the skills necessary to enter any group. Adopt key attitudes for social behavior, as are cooperation, mutual aid, amistad, solidarity, assistance, belonging and trust, among other, with which you will develop healthy relationships, satisfactory, that nullify power games, manipulation and shorten distances between people. To create solid bonds, I advise taking these relational skills into account., technical and emotional so that we can manage them.

Within the practical nature of the book it also proposes a series of exercises for readers.. A very interesting one is dedicated to evaluating our current network of contacts and discovering its value.. Is it important to analyze and correct to optimize our network of contacts?
This is really made to help those who take life very seriously and must measure everything. For me, really the important thing is to have an active contact network, but I have this integrated, that is to say, I do it naturally, It is an innate ability. Nevertheless, It is clear that for many people this is a job, That is why a guide or manual like the book is necessary. Networking para Dummiesin which I have included some exercises to audit the network and see what state our relationships are in and what actions to take to continue nurturing and developing it. This also allows us to update, resume contacts and evaluate the actions and events that have worked best for us, to continue applying them.
Besides, When we audit it we will discover the value of the network and we will know exactly how and who to help, because the most important thing we have to do is add value to the network and know how to ask the network and in this way we get feedback.

One of the reasons why many entrepreneurial projects and ideas are not maintained seems to be related to the absence of an environment management strategy.. Since you are an expert in it, Briefly tell us about this statement and what we can do to solve this lack.
One of the reasons why many entrepreneurs and startupsIt is difficult for them to maintain and project themselves over time., precisely, the lack of strategies to develop a network or community around those ideas, projects and startups. I am an entrepreneur by decision and conviction, and when we launch these businesses on the market we realize that our network ends in a flash! How many times will the same person buy the same product from me?, my parents or friends? How many times are they going to LIKE our posts on social networks?, these same people?
Networking is a Lifestyle and should not be Plan B and much less Plan Z, because beyond being a process, It also takes time and if we only go out to meet people when we need to because we have launched a startupor we have left work, We will not obtain satisfactory results and we will be the annoying ones who are desperate trying to keep the business from disappearing or asking for work.. Nobody does business with the enemy, Therefore, it is necessary to create sustainable relationships over time that are based on mutual trust and thus the network can surprise us with a friendship or possible business deals.. The art of making contacts and generating experiences assumed as a lifestyle. Develop a business structure, or your career, find more clients or launch a new project. Build solid contact networks, It is a valuable resource for all professionals and businessmen., It is a quick and effective way to project yourself, provide value, Furthermore, networking is a high-impact, low-cost action..

A section dedicated to the decalogues could not be missing from a book like this.. Is it a quick way for readers without much time to go directly to what we should do and what we should not do within networking??
The decalogues are very characteristic of the “for Dummies” collection: they are short chapters, fresh and if possible fun. Here I have placed those things that we must take into account, but at the same time we all know or suspect that they are like that and that it was not worth spending much time or explanation. Of the decalogues, the two that I like the most, perhaps because they are not so obvious and we can learn are those of the Chapters 18 y 19, about actions to expand our network, and the other about Collaboration.
