“I think I have gained in expressiveness and interpretive quality”

Ela Vin is Esther Vinuesa. Singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer who is presenting her third album at the end of the year, titled Tlazohcamati (2019), production, own edition and distribution. An album that follows the line of the previous ones, Solitary (2016) y Dancers (2018), but where the tempo of the songs is slower and more spiritual. Latent elements are recognized in Ela Vin's compositions: the sea, his trips to Mexico, Yann Tiersen… on a grassroots atmosphere folk, melodic pop and always with that subtle Latin American aroma that is the skeleton that gives free rein to an exquisite sensitivity. What would you highlight about this, your third album? How has the creative process been?? Have you had any conceptual common thread?
I really highlight the accurate production of each of the songs in relation to their rest and evolution.. Each one has had a different origin over time and has matured at different rates.. I have also been maturing throughout this process as a person and as an artist.. Consequently, I believe that I have gained in expressiveness and interpretive quality.. Regarding the common thread, It is the feeling of love that unites them all [The songs].

Why the title Tlazohcamati? We know about your relationship with Mexico, but enlighten us about the meaning of this word.
It is a word in the native language that I knew through my friend Jimena., what does it mean, basically “thank you”, but it goes further: “know how to recognize”, “knowing how to appreciate others”. In some way it is a thank you to all the people and experiences that have moved me and inspired me.. My relationship with Mexico was a very strong turning point on a personal and cultural level., that's true. But not all the songs on this album are based on that experience.. There are other sources of inspiration too., other places, other trips.

Although there is a clear prominence at the vocalic level, On a technical level and instrumental arrangements it is a very balanced album. Tell us about the recording process…
I think that on a vocal level I have achieved a warmth that blends very well with the emotion that it generates., the melody that expresses it and then with all the final packaging. Have Xema Fuertes and Cayo Bellveser in the production, recording and composing arrangements has been a luxury. In the same way that the collaborations of Óscar Pena and Txema Mendizabal have been. A process that has been defined by fluidity and good musical understanding. As with Anna Estellés, producer of the video clip for the song “Already seen”. It has been lucky to have them. As in previous jobs, I take great care of the final product in detail.. Closing the compositional circle through image and word is important because I feel that the entire creation process gains meaning and strength..

What dates can you tell us about concerts??
He 29 In February I will give a concert at Centro Excursionista de València and in spring, between April and May, at the Carmen Convent.
