Su Friedrich. Ties that bind

OF WEDNESDAY 3 ON THURSDAY 18/4
THE FILMTECA. Pl. town hall, 17

Series dedicated to what is considered one of the creators of cinema queer. With an avant-garde vocation, the cinema of the American Su Friedrich is presented, in words of Glory Vilches, commissioner of the cycle, "with a clear feminist and humanist conscience, great doses of honesty, sensitivity and a good sense of humor". Her themes address issues that involve the director's own experience, like the relationship between his lesbianism and religion (Gently down the stream, 1981), the family (Sink or swim, 1990), love (Rules of the road, 1993), the memory (The ties that bind, 1985), the physical deterioration of age (The odds of recovery, 2002) or his own daily life (Today, 2022).
