AU Summer Printed Magazine 2024

Summer has arrived and we happily skip out of the capital to enjoy light outdoor cultural events. To Sagunt to see classical theater performed by Victoria Abril or Joaquín Reyes inside Sagunto in Scene, to Xàtiva to listen inside Nights at the Castle of Xàtiva the music of Marala and Queralt Lahoz (among other) at the top of the castle, to Gandia for Zoo's farewell in the Pirata Beach Festival, to Benicàssim to immerse ourselves in massive events such as the FIB or the Rototom, and La Rambleta, the cloister of the CCCC and the gardens of the Palau de la Música for a bit of cinema in the fresh air. We don't forget the concert halls Kevin Johansen, Calexico, Bobby Rush, Suzanne Vega o The Smile, of the legendary theater festival stage of Phoios, of the Valencian Dramaturgy Tournament and of the musical Chicago, who arrives at Les Arts for two weeks to sing about the adventures of Roxie Hart. In the exhibitions section we have Portuguese art in The power with which we jump together, photograph printed on Fresson paper Bernard Plossu, art that denounces the exploitation of nature Carolina Caycedo and geometric abstraction made with cellular polycarbonate by María Aranguren (Genesis). ¡Ah! And we interviewed the performer Esther Ferrer, who in May inaugurated a very interesting monographic exhibition to review his sixty years of experience in action art. Besides, Caixaforum full of humor, rhythm, swing, magic and circus on Wednesdays in July with their Summer nights, we settle down at the festival gaming and digital entertainment OWN, we buy adult figures produced by designers and artists in Art Toy Con and we take a boat ride through the Albufera while we taste cheeses, sausages, tapas and preserves from the hand of Little Red Riding Hood. Walks and wines. We travel to rural Belgium with the comic At sea, we go into the true crime español The Asunta case from the hand of Netflix, we cook a scrambled blood sausage, mushrooms and pine nuts, we are going to dinner at the charming Mar d’Amura and we say goodbye to The Navy visiting the sheds, the clock building, the Kabanyal Restaurant and the Municipal Sailing School.
