The cultural area of ​​the University of Valencia is focusing its efforts on disseminating debates and conferences virtually during this time that is hostile to face-to-face life that we have had to live through.. He has transferred his Lluis Vives European School of Thought to the screen, has launched LaNau Webinars and now launches a new platform online call Valencia Thinks Global to address crucial issues in the current context such as social inequalities, the climate emergency, the digital society, transformations in jobs and production processes, the challenges to democracy or the world after the Covid-19 pandemic. on tuesday 9/6 at 6 p.m.. The initiative is inaugurated with a debate titled “The pandemic of neoliberalism and Europe” in which the professor of Philosophy of the Complutense University of Madrid participates, José Luis Villacañas Berlanga, and the Philosophy professors of the same university, Nuria Sánchez Madrid y Luis Alegre Zahonero. The talk will revolve around the book Neoliberalism as political theology. Habermas, Foucault, Dart, Laval and the history of contemporary capitalism, recently published by Villacañas in Ned Ediciones. And in the coming weeks we will be able to hear the voices of experts such as Javier Echeverria y Lola S. Almond trees, book authors Technopeople: how technologies transform us [17/6]. During the debate the topic of how digital technologies have transformed the world will be discussed, generating diverse technoworlds and technopeople., of the techno-scientific power exercised from the digital “Clouds”, and how new forms of domination are generated, of the societies of technocontrol and technodomination. The philosopher will also participate in València Thinks Global Daniel Innerarity, author of Pandemocracia: A philosophy of the coronavirus crisis, which has just been published by Galaxia Gutenberg, together with the president of the Consultative Legal Council of the Valencian Community, Margarita Soler [25/6].
