What's up with the AU logo??!

The astute reader will have noticed that the letters AU in our logo have mutated and are pure fantasy in January. Following the nomination of Valencia as World Capital of Design on 2022, we have teamed up with designer Juan Nava to invent a new logo every month of this year that begins using twenty letters that Nava has drawn from old commercial signs for his project Recovered letters. Until December 2022, our logo will include a U from the leather goods factory Arturo Sanchis in Carrer Tapineria, another of the Unió Musical sign on Calle La Pau and the mythical U of REFUGIO. Ace of the store shop Almacenes Maper de Morella, of the Copenhagen jewelry store in Vinaròs, and a wonderful A “built with counters” for a mosaic factory in Burjassot. And more letters from Pontevedra, Córdoba, Girona, Madrid, Barcelona, Porto, Paris, Leiden (Netherlands)… Letters from the thirties, some of them, invented or copied by the retortists of the time to give personality to the shops, and that today remain rabidly modern within our logo.
