Poster presentation of the 35th edition Cinema Jove 2020

TO THE MUTANT. John Verdeguer, 22-24

Until the last breath, we could say. This is how the Valencian film festivals face the pandemic in this difficult year. As you all already know, the edition of this 2020 of the Cinema Jove International Festival was temporarily canceled due to the difficulties imposed by the State of Alarm that we suffered during the months of March and April. The fact, oblivious to the intentions of the festival, left a bad taste in the mouth of the organization, even so, considered the possibility of holding an edition, even reduced, before the year ended.

And that's where we are. If the new viral situation does not prevent it again, Valencia will have its edition of Cinema Jove 2020 with a program that will consist of four projection grids: Official Section for short film competition, WebSeries, a selection of feature films out of competition and a series of special screenings that will be announced in the near future. To open your mouth, this wednesday 4 November we will be able to attend the official presentation of the poster for this 35th edition of Cinema Jove, carried out, on this occasion, and in accordance with the festival tradition, by the designer and poster artist Marta Pina. Pina has a degree in Fine Arts and a Specialist in Engraving and Printing Systems from the Polytechnic University of Valencia.. His work takes collage as its starting point, combined the use of various analog techniques with photography, a work that has been seen on the posters of festivals such as MuVIM's Bing Bang Dones, Christmas Design Festival de Las Naves, in La Leche magazines, Yawn and DXI Magazine or in plays, as Mutt y The bald song at MacDonald's. Regarding this year's poster, The organization tells us that Pina's work “has provided a wide range of possibilities to play with the graphic image of the festival.”, because with its design it emphasizes the importance of movement within statics when creating different formats, for both social networks and urban posters, an aspect that is totally in line with cinematography.” For those who want to browse and get closer to the author's work, you can visit their website: http://martapina.es

After the presentation of the poster, the festival director, Carlos Madrid, will interview the poster artist, that will detail to those attending the event what have been the sources of inspiration and the techniques used in this work. Next, The winning short film from the last edition of the contest will be screened, the french animated film Bear time, by Agnès Patron. To attend the event you only have to reserve your invitation on the La Mutant website at the address you can link here Quickly there is only 110 Appetizer!!
