Valencia is polyglot, of course you can hear both official languages, but also many other comings from outside that enrich and open the mind, we talk arabic, the ukrainian, the lingala (Congo), the chinese, the georgian, the Wolof (Senegal and Gambia), Russian or French (now orphaned without Institut Français). All will be represented in the Poliglotía project promoted by the IVAM to give visibility to the languages ​​and cultural practices that converge in the city. For example, in a Polyglot Study Group that will experiment with words, legends, jokes, lullabies and other expressions of the different mother tongues of its members. There will be an Arabic calligraphy workshop [10/12], a bookstore-led reading session United Minds around the book Decolonize the mind [January] and meetings where different migratory realities will be heard [February]. But there is more, the session Flavors & knowledge with the collective Migrant Kitchens to open spaces for dialogue about identity and migration through gastronomy; a taller de arte ebru, a traditional painting technique made from drops of natural dyes on water that spread from Central Asia to Türkiye; and a walk guided by Hu Zhao that will visit the Valencian corners that evoke his native China.
