Just a few kilometers from Valencia, zigzagging trenches sink their claws, air raid shelters, bunkers, rifle galleries with loopholes for shooting and pillboxes from the Civil War. They are integrated into a defensive line of 26 kilometers that goes from El Puig to Villamarxant, built by the legitimate government of the Republic as the last bastion to stop the rebellious troops who were fighting to enter Valencia, which at that time held the title of capital of the Spanish Republic.. “The immediate one”, That's what this last defensive line was called., It was never used because the rebel army failed to cross the northernmost line XYZ, in the province of Castellón. The rebels entered Valencia without opposition with the war already won. The line begins to deploy its thick concrete walls on the beach of El Puig, in a fort currently covered by the sea, and leaves us remains of heritage that can be visited in the mountain of La Patà, Rafelbunyol, Noth, Betera, Montcada, San Antonio de Benageber, Paternal, The Eliana, Riba-roja and Villamarxant, where it ends with six centers of resistance.
