CARME CENTER. Museum, 2
For those who doubted whether it would happen again, the second edition of You Mouth, the illustrated book festival and fair that takes its name from the country where Kembo comes from, a vegetarian lion born from the imagination of Carlos Pérez and the strokes of Miguel Calatayud. The contest roars loudly from the Gothic cloister of the Center del Carme, which houses for a whole weekend lots of stalls where 16 editorials, four bookstores and eight self-publishing labels present the latest novelties in illustrated books. This year, besides, we will have guest authors Sarah Mazzetti, Brecht Evens and Randall Casaer to lead a program that includes a spectacular live drawing duel, round tables and workshops. But, definitely, the jewel in the crown will be the exhibition Babalunga and Kamolongos, in which they will participate 110 illustrators of 16 different countries, and that responds to the international perspective of a festival that seeks to make visible the work of professionals, encourage interdisciplinary creation and foster critical spirit and aesthetic sensitivity. The little ones are welcome at Baba Kamo, where a very special storyteller awaits you, short stories, by Mar Benegas, the family workshop The full place, where they can build traveling houses or nomadic chimneys that fold and unfold, and a concert by Sedajazz Happy Band, formation made up of young people and children who play reggae, will, soul y jazz with a mastery that leaves us speechless.
