The good weather arrives and you decide to meet your friends in good spirits on a small terrace in a specific neighborhood of Valencia. You would like to have breakfast in a shiny place, since you don't see each other every day, and seize the opportunity. Searches on the net and everything is rankings and classifications of the best breakfasts in Cap and Casal, but you can't find any in the neighborhood where you meet.
But… keep calm! Taste it here has contacted some real breakfasters who have provided us with the necessary information that will direct us to the star breakfasts in each quarter of our city. [Consult the recommended addresses in each district of the city of Valencia at the end of our article.]
To complete the list of recommendations, we have turned to the wisdom of the people responsible for four of the most followed Instagram profiles regarding Valencian breakfast culture: @Breakfast, @Almuerzo_Valencia, @EsmorzarPopular and @El_Sangonereta. But what hearts beat behind these social networks?
@Breakfast
Joan Ruiz is the soul of the project @Breakfast which you can find in Instagram format and, in greater detail and attention, on your abellidor blog. In love with "grandmother's" cooking and our gastronomic tradition, Joan remembers the visits with her parents to Santa Caterina market in his native Mallorca, the smells and colors of the market where they often ended up doing a tongue (the Mallorcan brother of one Valencian Pataqueta) i a variat (a kind of dish where several portions of minced meat are mixed). With more than 1.600 followers, Joan often discovers us, with some nice photos, new places to take advantage of this Valencian tradition. It may seem improvised, but Joan is passionate about breakfast culture and, before visiting a bar, it is documented and researched which is the best time to go there and what to ask for. He tells us the moment when he, who is restless by nature, I decided to open the Instagram account when I learned that the name @Breakfast was available in August 2018 and implicitly knew that an affair was beginning. Joan combines this more fun and creative part in combination with her profession dedicated more to the financial world. His photographs, exquisite, they are the gateway to their publications where they contain a mix of subjective data important for breakfast culture (what atmosphere is there, how is the service, etc.) i objectives (what products the locals have, what is the price of breakfast, etc.). He is still surprised every day by the amount of positive reactions from his followers who often visit the places he is documenting as a pilgrimage route.
Final track of @Esmorzaret
· Favorite place: Russafa Market Bar (it transports me to childhood for the sensations of the living market!).
· Favorite sandwich: The "whitey" from the Mercar bar in Russafa (sausage, cheese, caramelized onion and egg drop (I have a fixation on dropped eggs!).
· Indispensable at breakfast time: Some olives with pickled vegetables and a good coffee.
@EsmorzarPopular
@EsmorzarPopular already started at 2012 began to publish a Twitter references to the Valencian breakfast and the 2014 create the profile focusing the information on this topic, since there was a lack of accounts referring to breakfast (and also made in Valencian) for something so ours. He 2016 they entered Instagram and currently have edge 7.000 followers. The recommendations of an acquaintance or follower and the chance of finding yourself in front of a beautifying bar have formed the network of premises visited by @EsmorzarPopular. Even so, he has a detailed file with about a hundred outstanding sites. We will keep an eye on it! He also tells us that in Ribera Baixa there are a handful of places that stand out from all the others, but that his favorite place to have breakfast is in a country house with friends or family, convoy surrounds, laugh, gossip…
Final track of @EsmorzarPopular
· Favorite place: A cottage with friends or family.
· Indispensable at breakfast time: Some people say that if there is no good salad it is not a good breakfast, others that if the cocoa is not in corfa it is not a good breakfast, others that if you don't have a good burn at the end it's not breakfast… The more sugar the sweeter, but for me what can't be missing is company.
@Almuerzo_Valencia
@Almuerzo_Valencia is David's alter ego in Instagram profile format. With his photos, he tours places in Cap and Casal that follow more than 750 people. David started this project driven by his passion for the Valencian breakfast culture. He had been compiling addresses of places to go for breakfast for quite some time and thought that with the help of social networks he could make them known to many more people. an incentive of@Almuerzo_Valencia is that he moves a lot around the city and the regions because of his work and this makes him discover many places that he wouldn't have been able to find otherwise. Recommendations from friends and information feedback on social networks complete your search tool for new places to eat breakfast. With the publications, David gives us his personal experience in each place he visits and explains that he can be found in the places he reviews for us: type of sandwiches, varieties and prices.
Final fireworks of’@Almuerzo_Valencia
· Favorite place: It's hard to pick just one, but I can't forget the Cent Duros House from Borbotó where I started to love this hobby.
· Favorite sandwich: I have a weakness for horsemeat with tender wings or artichokes.
· Indispensable at breakfast time: Besides the sandwich, I find the bread used very important. Equally important and more so is the accompaniment, commonly called the "spend", and it is, at times, what makes the difference from one place to another: cocoa, olives, lupines, salad, etc. I also like a good coffee or a good cremadet, a drink very much our own that would deserve a separate chapter.
@El_Sangonereta
We could say that @El_Sangonereta it's almost Luis Ortolà's nickname, one of the best-known breakfast places in Ribera Baixa del Xúquer. In their Instagram profile they reflect our tradition of paronet in the middle of the morning – as Luis tells us – that woke him up to do this gastronomic follow-up. What he values most about the breakfast is, as other colleagues have already commented, it's the company on a weekend when you get together with yours. @El_Sangonereta he knows the places of Cullera and the surrounding area well, take advantage of recommendations, but it confirms to us that the Ribera can show off some very good places to have a Valencian breakfast. It is also not necessary to put all kinds of information in each entry: types of special breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, cocoa, café, prices, atmosphere and views, etc. all accompanied by ratings with a maximum of 5 stars so that fans know the quality of the venue.
Final fireworks of @El_Sangoneta
· Favorite place: I can't pick just one. From Cullera, I would choose the Donet bar, l’hotel The Chateau, he Tennis Club. Swedish, the bar Reyton. From Valencia, he Pelayo Gastrotrinquet.
· Favorite sandwich: Nor could I choose just one: 1) a "Milanese" (empanada meat, charm, tomato, mayonnaise, chimichurri); 2) a "brascade" (beef, ham, onion and cheese), i 3) one of horse meat, alls tenders i ou.
· Indispensable at breakfast time: In a good breakfast, the salad with its vines is essential, cocoa with corfa and to finish off a good cremadet (a burst of burnt rum). That would be a classy breakfast!
