Bells of my village

PL. EMILIO CASTELAR (Burjassot)

Days before the end of the commemoration of 25 anniversary of the death of Vicent Andrés Estellés, the Valencian Promotion Agency of Burjassot, AVIVA Burjassot and the cultural association Campaners de la Catedral de Valencia organize Bells of my village, the soundscape of Estellés, a route by foot, in walking mode, where the experiences of Estellés literature will be linked with the soundscape that the traditional ringing of bells implies.

Through the route we will review his verses and poems with different ringing of bells that have also served to transmit the emotions of the community. For verses that talk about death we can hear the sound of dawn, already lost, but which announced in a peculiar way the death of children. For verses about the passage of time, the Town Hall's hourly bell will ring, for those verses that talk about the daily routine, or the daily rhythm, of work, etc., daily and prayer touches will be played. And to connect the festive season, festive touches will be exemplified.

The peculiarity of this route is that only those bells that were cast before Estellés' death will be rung. That is to say, chimes will play, linked to community emotions of Burjassot, which are described, they are told and transmitted through the words of our poet, with the bells that Estellés himself heard daily in his life.

The route will take place on Saturday 23/3 and will start at 10.45am. in the square of Emilio Castelar in Burjassot. It is open and free. In this link you can find more information: bit.ly/campanesdelmeupoble.
