Valencia, October 1934. The look of Luis Vidal Corella

UNTIL SUNDAY 24/11
C.M. RECTOR PESET. Pl. Oven of Sant Nicolau, 4

October of 1934 a revolutionary strike broke out in Catalonia and Asturias that spread throughout Spain, also in the city of Valencia. Here, the photographer Luis Vidal Corella it captured the social tension of the moment fueled by workers showing their anger with work stoppages, demonstrations and pickets. Not an easy task, since he did it with a Zeiss Ernemann camera of glass plates and wooden frame. Although he was a professional without a declared ideological link with the labor struggle, for a few days in October 1934 he became a photographer of the revolution. The Collegi Major Rector Peset shows us the Valencia that fought for its rights on the ninetieth anniversary of that revolution that remained for history. AU
