A photo background around photographer Gómez Novella

UNTIL SATURDAY 23/8
The box. Pl. market, 4

This is a sample with three unquestionable attractions: See what is this of stereoscopic photography on glass plates; to know the habits, Customs and landscapes of Valencia at the beginning of the century; and admire the technique of the photographer and portrait of the high Valencian society Vicente Gómez Novella. Linked to the Valencian modernist movement, Novella participated in national and international exhibitions, collaborated with publications such as The Traca i The village, And he linked to key artistic and intellectual figures of the time such as Benlliure or Blasco Ibáñez. The Llotgeta Exhibition brings to light an unpublished file with 250 Positive stereoscopic Gómez Novella rediscovered by the artist's family the 2018. There are scenes captured in different parts of the geography of Spain and the European continent, and others who belong to our landscape: The Penyal D’Fach, a Latin sailboat in the port of Valencia, an aerial view of the dome of the cathedral of Valencia and its surroundings… Like this, we have a valuable set by its aesthetic and compositional dimension, but also as a historical and ethnographic testimony of an age when pictures were scarce.
