CARME CENTER. Museum, 2
The Alicante Daniel G. Andujar occupies the Ferreres room at the Center del Carme until January with a retrospective covering almost thirty years of artistic career. An important figure in the world of Net Art - art created for the network -, Andújar practices a vindictive conceptual art that x-rays social problems that boil over today and some characteristics of our capitalist system: the vigilance, the copy, censorship, the borders, the perception of the other as a threat, the behavior of multinationals, the repression of the State, the violence, the weapons, the war, the nefarious political class, real estate speculation… It is not an easy art to digest, it requires time and thought. In the central corridor of the room we find the fall pseudo-monument that the artist presented in the last edition of Documenta in Kassel, one of the most important cultural meetings in the world. With the collaboration of the fall artist Manolo Martín, questions the canon and classical beauty, and toasts to the denormalized body that crowns the structure. Besides, makes the visitor reflect on the uniqueness of the work of art, on the concept of copying and reproduction, printing at full scale and in very high quality fifty masterpieces of the history of art signed by Velázquez, Fra Angélico or El Bosco, others.
