We have known for a long time that documentary photography is neither aseptic nor innocent., which is not a faithful representation of reality. Ana Císcar enter the Jorge López gallery to show us, precisely, the friction between this supposed fidelity and the interpretive character, constructed narrative, that is given to the arts, particularly to painting. The Valencian artist explores the narrative potential of the image by appropriating old photographs (archive and press) that transfers to plastic language through a complex assembly work. Blur, recomposes and juxtaposes the originals to reactivate the material from another site, strangest and most disturbing. AU
