Prehistory and the Sea. Marine resources in the past

MUSEUM OF PREHISTORY. Corona, 36

Our relationship with the sea goes back a long way, from our most remote past, concretely we can go back 30.000 years ago (as if nothing). The prehistoric societies that occupied Valencian territory then used marine resources for different purposes: of course, it was an important part of their diet, but they also made ornaments and utensils, or they gave them a symbolic meaning. The exhibition Prehistory and the sea shows us more than a hundred pieces, between them collars, bracelets, spoons, ceramics and musical instruments. All made or decorated with what the sea, this blue giant who has always been with us, gave to our prehistoric ancestors. AU
